Kathleen Moon, Accompanist
Dr. Kathleen Moon directs the Saturday Choir at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Reseda, and was recently appointed organist / choirmaster at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Hollywood. She is also a lecturer in music education at Mount St. Mary’s College, and coordinates publicity for the UCLA Department of Music.

At age four. Kathleen began piano lessons with her mother, Dessa Moon, followed by private instruction at age nine with English concert artist Carol Suter. While a student at Hollywood High School, she began playing the harp., and her teachers include Dorothy Victor, Marjorie Call and Susann McDonald. Local appearances as harp soloist include San Fernando Valley Symphony, Moorpark Symphony, Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra, and the American Youth Symphony.
Kathleen holds a B.A., magna cum laude, in music from Immaculate Heart College, and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in music education from UCLA. Her choral music studies were with Roger Wagner and Donn Weiss at UCLA, and Judith Clurman at the Juilliard School.
Kathleen’s daughter, Claire Plauzoles, is a alumna of the Valley Youth Chorus. She is a graduate of Chaminade High School, currently in her second year at California State University Northridge.
